• Developing new methods for reclaiming energy from sludge using techniques that enhance the performance of enzymes through the use of polymers
• Development and application of industrial polymers, with a major objective being the commercialization of laboratory findings
• Modifying the behavior of industrial polymers, such as cationic polyacrylamides, using cyclodextrin-related additives
• Improving the economics of paper recycling by increasing the efficiency of contaminant removal
• Removal of steroids in pulp and paper mill effluent
