
Our holistic admissions review process is based on recommended best practices. Note that we do not use the GRE in our admissions process. Fee waivers for financial hardship may be requested.
Admission Guidelines
- B.S. degree in chemical engineering, bioengineering, paper science & engineering, or a closely related discipline
- Minimum GPA of 3.3/4.0
- TOEFL or IELTS scores for international students. Minimum scores are described here: https://www.grad.gatech.edu/english-proficiency
Applications are typically due in December for admission in the fall semester. We encourage early submission, as admissions are made on a rolling basis.
Most students enter the PhD program directly from the BS. Most MS students take the coursework non-thesis option, which does not provide funding. If you are particularly interested in the MS thesis option, please contact Prof. Grover before applying, or consider the GT-EQUAL program.
