Georgia Tech’s School of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering is ranked No. 2 (up one spot from last year) in the nation (first among public universities) for its undergraduate program in the latest rankings of U.S. News & World Report.
The Georgia Tech College of Engineering reclaimed the No. 3 position among the nation’s undergraduate engineering programs in the latest rankings from U.S. News & World Report.
The College moved up one spot on the 2026 Best Colleges list released Sept. 23. The ranking puts the program at No. 1 among public universities (tied with the University of California, Berkeley).
The new list marks the second time in three years the College’s overall programs have ranked third, its best-ever position on the annual list. Every discipline ranked sixth or better, with most in the top three.
U.S. News uses surveys of deans and senior faculty members at other universities to rank engineering programs and individual disciplines. The publication’s rankings are just one indicator of the quality of an institution, though they can influence undergraduates, professors, prospective students, peer institutions, and the media.
Overall, Georgia Tech is tied at No. 32 nationally, one spot higher than last year. Tech also is tied for ninth among public universities.
