The Georgia Tech School of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering is ranked No. 2 (unchanged from last year) in the nation—first among public universities—for its undergraduate program in the 2027 rankings of U.S. News & World Report.

Georgia Tech’s engineering program ranks higher than ever before in the Best Colleges rankings, placing at No. 2 in the nation (tied with Stanford University and the University of California, Berkeley).

Tech and Berkeley now share the distinction of having the top public engineering program in the nation.

All of the College’s individual disciplines ranked in the top 5 among their peers.

U.S. News uses surveys of deans and senior faculty members at other universities to rank engineering programs and individual disciplines. The publication’s rankings are just one indicator of the quality of an institution, though they can influence undergraduates, professors, prospective students, peer institutions, and the media.

Overall, Georgia Tech rose three places to No. 29 nationally and is sixth among public universities.
